Ambitious Azam FC capture Sofapaka's Mieno after landing Joackins Atudo

Sofapaka FC President Kalekwa reveals to that the two clubs have agreed that the midfielder joins the Dar-based club on a six month deal

Kenya Premier League (KPL) side Sofapaka have agreed to loan midfielder Humphrey Mieno to Tanzanian outfit Azam FC.

Sofapaka President Elly Kalekwa revealed to that the two clubs have reached an agreement that Mieno switches to the ice-cream making club on a six month deal.

“We have released Mieno and he will play for Azam for the coming six months. The contract has a clause that if he (Mieno) gets a call for trials in Europe, then Azam will release him.”

Mieno now joins another Kenyan Joackins Atudo at the Dar-based club. Atudo joined the side coached by former Sofapaka coach Stewart Hall a week ago.

Elsewhere, the 2009 champions have joined the race to sign defender Collins Kisuya.

Kisuya - a former AFC Leopards and Ulinzi Stars player -  is back in the country after a one and a half year stint in Belgium at top flight side Germinal Beershort.

Kisuya confirmed to that he had trained with the team and a deal was in the offing.

“Yes I have been training with Sofapaka and we are almost striking a deal. All the paperwork could be completed in a few days time.”
