The ex-AFC and Tusker FC player reveals to Goal.com that he has signed a one year contract with the side that finished third in last season’s league
Former Gor Mahia midfielder Itub Imbem has penned a one year contract with Vietnam side Dong Nai FC.
The ex-AFC Leopards and Tusker Congolese ace revealed to Goal.com on Thursday that he had signed a contract with the side that finished third in last season’s Vleague.
“Yes I have signed for Dong Nai FC. I had successful trials and we have settled for a one year contract that can be extended when the league concludes. I thank God for the move.”
Imbem also confirmed that he has secured a release letter from Gor Mahia. “I want to take this opportunity to thank Gor Mahia family for supporting me. I could not have made it without them. I am happy to have played for Gor Mahia.”
“My main vision now is to pay back my new club. We played a pre-season friendly on Wednesday and scored the goal in the 1-1 draw. My fitness level is very okay just looking forward to the season to begin.”
Dong Nai FC is based in Ho Chi Minch in Dong Nai City and has a 40,000 capacity stadium.
Imbem signed for Gor Mahia in June. The Congolese left AFC Leopards mid-way last season after being shown the door but landed at Tusker FC where he won the league title with the brewers.
He left the Ruaraka-based club at the start of the season to go and pursue more dollars abroad but the deal never worked out hence returned to Gor Mahia.
