Obungu who lifted the premiership title with Sofapaka in 2009, confirms to Goal.com that he has penned a three year deal with the promoted side

Former Kenyan international custodian Wilson Obungu has joined newly promoted Kenyan Premier League outfit Bandari FC.

Obungu who lifted the premiership title with Sofapaka in 2009, has also had stints with Rangers FC and most recently Sony Sugar.

"Yes. I have a deal with Bandari, its a two year contract with option for a third (year) provided we are not relegated. I am excited with this opportunity. Hopefully all the paper work can be completed soon because am already training with the side." the custodian revealed to Goal.com.

Obungu was a consistent member of the national team under coach Jacon 'Ghost' Mulee and Zedekiah Otieno during the 2009m Cecafa Senior Challenge Cup tournament as well as the Nile Basin tournament that was staged in Egypt in 2010.

A move to Europe seemed in the offing after a commendable performance in 2010, but that was curtailed by a career threatening knee injury that kept him out of action for close to ten months.
