Goal.com has reliably learnt that the club’s branches have petitioned the top officials and National Executive Council (NEC) members to have the 71 year-old reinstated.
The branches officials fear that with pre-season training just around the corner and the club still inactive in the transfer market, they are lugging behind and need a coach to lead the technical bench.
It is understood that the branches made their petition on Tuesday night during a gala in which the club feted its outstanding players.
Koops confirmed the developments to Goal.com saying that the branch officials have informed him of their desire and a meeting is scheduled for Friday.
“They told me that they want me back. I am scheduled to have a meeting with club treasurer Moody Remmy on Friday where we will discuss the issue further.”
When quizzed whether he would accept to have a second stint with the club that only fired him recently, the tactician said that he would make up his mind after perusing through offers on the table.
“I am also in talks with Sony Sugar. There is a lot of interest and I will only make my mind next week. I have to make an informed decision.”
