The sugar millers chairman confirms to Goal.com that the new tactician will be unveiled on Friday because "Zico" 'absconded duty for 30 days'
"We had serious issues with Otieno and he may leave if it does not get resolved and so for now that is the situation at the club," Odero was quoted saying then.
Premier League (KPL) side Sony Sugar
are now seeking for a new coach after Zedekiah "Zico" Otieno 'absconded duty'.
Sony Sugar chairman Charles Odero revealed to Goal.com
that the new tactician will be unveiled on Thursday.
"We have not seen Otieno (Zico) for the last 30 days and to me that is a breach of contract. We had a renewable contract with him but now the club is looking for a new coach for the next season and we are doing necessary interventions to make the changes."
Goal.com revealed on Wednesday that the sugar miller have approached former AFC Leopards coach Jan Koops to take over the team even as the fate of Otieno remained unknown.
However, rumors have it that the former Harambee Stars and Gor Mahia defender is seeking for a political seat in Nairobi.
Koops confirmed that the sugar millers have asked him to send his coaching papers for perusal something he has already done.
Koops has no club after Ingwe terminated his contract following a dismal performance in the 2012 season.
Efforts to reach Otieno, who joined the club at the beginning of the 2012 season after being sacked by Gor Mahia proved futile as his phone went answered.
