Tusker defender Jockins Atudo pens two year deal to complete switch to Azam

The towering ace, who was outstanding for Harambee Stars at Cecafa tournament, agrees to sign for the ambitious Tanzanian ice-cream makers

Ambitious Azam FC have recruited Kenyan defender Jockins Atudo in an attempt to reinforce their squad ahead of the second round of this season’s Mainland Premier League.

Atudo, Kenya’s outstanding defender at the just concluded Cecafa Tusker Senior Challenge Cup in Kampala, Uganda, has signed a two-year contract with the ice-cream makers.

“Atudo is one of the best defenders in Kenya and East Africa as a whole as those who have seen him in action can attest,” Azam coac Stewart Hall told Tanzania’s leading daily.

“We need a player of his calibre to have a formidable outfit. Our target is to win the Mainland Premier League and fare impressively in the Confederation Cup, next year.”

Atudo’s signing brings to five the number of players the 2012 Kagame Cup runners-up have signed in the past three weeks.

The other new faces in Hall’s squad and their former clubs in bracket are David Mwantika (Tanzania Prisons), Malika Ndeule (Mtibwa Sugar), Seif Abdallah (Ruvu Shooting) and Uhuru Seleman (Simba SC).
