Kenya's Tusker FC and Gor Mahia handed Seychelles clubs in CAF competitions

Should the brewers qualify, then they are lined up to face Egypt side Al Ahly while K'ogallo will confront Enppi (also from Egypt) in the next round
Kenya league champions Tusker FC has been handed Saint Michael United of Seychelles in the preliminary round of the 2013 CAF Champions League while Gor Mahia will play Anse Reunion also from Seychelles in the Confederation Cup.

Should the brewers sail through, they are lined up to face Egypt side Al Ahly while Gor Mahia will take on Engineering for the Petroleum and Process Industries (Enppi FC) (also from Egypt) in the next round.

Tusker FC will play first leg match away in Seychelles on the weekend of 15, 16,17 February 2013 and the return leg in Nairobi on the weekend of 1, 2, 3rd March 2013, in Nairobi.

Gor Mahia assistant coach John “Bobby” Ogolla welcomed the draw. “We want to go far in this competition and our immediate plans is to sign quality players who will be able to compete in highest level. To me I think that is a very kind draw for both Tusker and Gor Mahia,” Ogolla told

Both Tusker and Gor Mahia exited last year’s competitions in the preliminary stage and will be going flat out to better that dismal performance.

Tusker are Kenya’s representatives in the lucrative Champions League after winning the 2012 Kenya Premier League season while Gor Mahia will feature in the Confederation Cup by virtue of clinching the domestic FKF Cup after beating Sofapaka 3-0 on post match penalties in the final.
