Harambee Stars custodian Duncan Ochieng has attributed his high flying performance at the ongoing Tusker Cecafa Cup in Kampala, to goalkeeper trainer Rizik Siwa.

Ochieng, who has been in great form after conceding two goals in four matches against strong opponents at the regional tournament, says he was regaining past form that saw him wear the number one jersey of the national team without any close rival.

“I am getting better and better as the tournament progresses and I can attribute this to our goalkeeper trainer Siwa who is teaching me great techniques,” Ochieng’ told in Kampala.

“I think I am almost back to my best form,” added the custodian, who turns out for 2009 Tusker Premier League champions Sofapaka.

Siwa has had numerous stints with Harambee Stars as well as national teams and league sides in Tanzania.

Currently he is the goalie trainer of promoted side Bandari FC. Ochieng’ pulled two great saves against reigning champions Uganda Cranes in the opening match to help Stars contain the hosts.

Against South Sudan, his authority inside the box barred the debutantes from finding the back of the net as Stars won 2-0 and the third match against Africa Cup of Nations-bound Ethiopia, he conceded a deflected shot later in the match, but Stars went ahead to win 3-1.

In the quarter-final against Malawi, he put up a great performance that barred the Flames to find the back of the net, despite the fact that they had beaten Zanzibar 3-0 in their last match.
