Kenya side Thika United beef up squad with acquisition of striker Ezekiel Odera

The striker formerly of Gor Mahia and KCB has put pen to paper a two year deal alongside Bidco FC custodian Zamu who joins on a four year contract

Kenya Premier League (KPL) side Thika United have signed prolific striker Ezekiel Odera and goalkeeper Adis Zamu from KCB and Bidco United respectively ahead of the coming 2013 season.

The Brooke side sponsored club, have also acquired services of youngsters Mwinyi Kibwana (Kilifi), Samy Mejja (Kakamega High) and midfielder Anthony Josiah (Ofafa Jericho).

Club coach Joseph Kamau confirmed to the new acquisitions. The former bankers and Gor Mahia striker Odera has put pen to paper a two year deal while goalkeeper Zamu has signed a four year deal.

“Odera is expected to add more fire power to our forward line that has been wanting throughout the 2012 season while the experience boost to the club is the former Bidco United custodian, Adisa Zamu who has signed a four-year contract.”

“Zamu had quite a proficient performance in the Kenyan division one league where he helped his former club finish in position two, and hopefully he will be the answer to Thika United’s lapses.”

After a successful run in the 2012 campaign, coach Kimani responded by releasing four players on what he termed as 'rebuilding the team for the coming season."

Those who were shown the door include lanky midfielder Hajji Mwachoki, custodian John Njenga Mbugua, defender Evans Olutecho and Andrew Kulecho.
