The AFC Leopards' player who featured in the opening match against Uganda Cranes will replace the expelled Kevin Omondi of Gor Mahia

AFC Leopards midfielder Bernard Mango’li has been restored into the Kenya squad to face Ethiopia in a must-win Cecafa Senior Challenge Cup duel at Namboole Stadium, Kampala on Friday.

The Ingwe ace, who started in Kenya’s 1-0 defeat to Uganda Cranes in the opening match, will return to fill the void left by expelled Kevin Omondi of Gor Mahia.

Kenya coach James Nandwa confirmed to Goal.com that Mango’li will start against the Black Lions. “We will have Mango’li back for the clash against Ethiopia."

Nandwa also revealed that he was having headache on either to start with Sofapaka’s Thomas “Heskey” Wanyama as a supportive midfielder or AFC Leopards’ striker Victor Ochieng’ upfront in place of Paul Were.

“We need goals against Ethiopia and it will be prudent if we field a squad that will be able to score and at the same time defend. That is why am contemplating starting either Wanyama as a defensive midfielder or throw in Ochieng (Victor) to support Mika Baraza in the striking force.”

Kenya needs a win or a draw against Ethiopia to reach the last eight of the regional tournament. Defending champions Uganda Cranes and Burundi have already sailed through to the quarters.

Meanwhile, a source has hinted that Mathare United goalkeeper Martin Musalia will be preferred to start in place of Duncan Ochieng' of Sofapaka.
