Kenya Premier League (KPL) side AFC Leopards have been making behind the scenes efforts to woe Gor Mahia head coach Zdravko Logarusic, Goal.com can authoritatively reveal.
K'ogalo deputy secretary general Ronald Ngala for the first time admits that their arch-rivals have been making overtures to the coach since September adding that current hard line stance taken by the tactician in regards to contract talks is due to the ‘big’ monies Ingwe are ready to splash to win his signature.
"We are aware AFC Leopards have been trying to win him (Logarusic). It has been going on for some time but we are not worried."
"His (Logarusic) threats to quit the club way back in September was due to the seduction from Leopards, but we are advising him to tread carefully. We know Kenya better than him and he should watch out because such a move will also spoil his reputation."
Ngala at the same time contradicted the coach’s earlier position that his contract expires on Sunday midnight.
"We signed him in April this year for a one year contract. As far as we are concerned, he is contracted to the club until April next year."
‘’We are keenly monitoring the situation, he is only going to Croatia for holiday and will be back as he has not seen the remainder of his contract."
Ngala also hit out at Leopards for trying to destabilize the club saying that they should learn to groom their own talent.
"They took Masika (Eric) from us but it didn’t’ help their course, now they are trying the coach and our skipper Jerim Onyango."
Ngala however, revealed that they are yet to receive any formal bid for their first choice shot stopper. "Jerim is our player what you (media) are hearing is rumours because first of all the transfer window has not opened and we are yet to receive any formal bid for him."
