AFC Leopards have sacked the entire technical bench headed by Jan Koops, Goal.com can exclusively report.
AFC chairman Alex Ole Magello confirmed the developments after a marathon NEC meeting held on Thursday.
The technical bench that has been sent packing consists of Dutch coach Jan Koops (head coach), Mickey Weche, Nicholas Muyoti (assistant coaches), Mohammed Fwaya (goalkeeper trainer) and Noah Wanyama (technical director).
Goal.com reported on Wednesday that the team's NEC members were due to meet on Thursday in a crisis meeting to discuss the fate of the technical bench.
Magelo said that NEC was to grill the technical bench in a bid to unearth the reason behind the team’s failure to lift silverware this season despite massive investment in the playing unit.
“We will not only be meeting them (technical bench) but will also demand for satisfactory answers. A convincing explanation must be given for the poor show,” Magelo was quoted saying.
Magelo added that as club chairman he is answerable to the club’s fans who are demanding for an explanation that "I must give."
“Each of the technical bench members will be judged independently according to his area of expertise.”
The move bring to an end Koops reign, who joined Ingwe midway last season on a three-year contract.
