Club chairman Alex Ole Magelo on Wednesday revealed to Goal.com that NEC will grill the technical bench led by head coach Jan Koops in a bid to unearth the reason behind the team’s failure to lift silverware this season despite massive investment in the playing unit.
“We will not only be meeting them (technical bench) but will also demand for satisfactory answers. A convincing explanation must be given for the poor show.”
Magelo added that as club chairman he is answerable to the club’s fans who are demanding for an explanation that "I must give."
“Each of the technical bench members will be judged independently according to his area of expertise.”
The technical bench consists of Dutch man Koops (head coach), Mickey Weche, Nicholas Muyoti (assistant coaches), Mohammed Fwaya (goalkeeper trainer) and Noah Wanyama (technical director).
On Tuesday, a well placed source who sought anonymity, had confined to Goal.com that the fate of the entire technical bench had already been sealed.
”The technical bench is in trouble, they have underperformed this season and we need to make drastic changes,” the source said.
When contacted the Dutch tactician denied knowledge of the looming changes in the technical bench.
”I have been meant to understand that NEC have been holding meetings but I don’t know whether they have been discussing my fate.”
