SCOTLAND

Celtic midfield dynamo Victor Wanyama featured prominently on Saturday setting up the first goal as his side cruised to a 2-0 victory over Aberdeen.

Wanyama fired a powerful volley which crashed onto the woodwork and bounced back to play. The move offered a chance to Tunisian international Hassen Lassad for a simple tap to open the score charts.

Charlie Mulgrew then grabbed a second goal for the Bhoys. The win propelled the Hoops to the top spot in the SPL standings with 25 points with a game at hand.

Hibernian are second on 24 points. Wanyama was rewarded with the man of the match award for his efforts.

ITALY

MacDonald Mariga was unused substitute as Serie A giants Inter-Milan were held at their San Siro home turf to a 2-2 draw by Cagliari in a league a match played on Sunday.

Rodrigo Palacio scored the Nerazzurri‘s first goal in the tenth minute while Marco Sau grabbed a brace for the visitors in the 43rd and 66th minute.

An own goal by Davide Astori however, restored parity allowing Inter to salvage a point. Inter remain at position two with 28 points, four behind leaders Juventus.

BELGIUM

Ayub Timbe's Racing Genk suffered a 3-1 defeat to Cercle B in a Jupiter league match played on Saturday. The loss left Genk at position four on the log after amassing 52 points eleven shy of leaders Anderlecht.

Timbe who never featured in this encounter will hope to gain some playing time when his team faces OH Leuven this weekend.


NORWAY

Goalkeeper Arnold Origi kept a clean sheet on Saturday as his club Ullensaker/Kisa picked earned promotion to the top flight league following a  2-0 win over Bodo Glimt in a Norwegian division one match played at the UKI Arena to end the season on a sound note.

Duba and K. Onstad scored the two goals in the 49th and 89th minutes respectively. The win saw Origi’s side finish at position six in the standings on 44 points on the 16 team-table. Start finished top with 66 points.
