Kenya midfielder Mariga makes squad to face Calgiari in Serie A match on Sunday

Kenyan midfield star Macdonald Mariga reveals he is excited to be included in the Inter Milan squad ahead of the Serie A league encounter against Cagliari on Sunday.

The 25 year-old is part of the 22 man squad that is scheduled to travel for the match away to the 12th placed side that kicks-off at the Stadio Meazza at (5pm Kenyan time).

The Uefa Champions League winner, last featured in a competitive match seven months ago while on loan at Parma, but suffered a serious injury that has ruled him out ever since.

"I give thanks to God. I am excited beyond measure, my recovery program went on schedule and I never suffered a setback. I am ready for the action if called upon (against Cagliari). I have missed playing football, now (hopefully) that is behind me," Mariga told

This news will be a big boost to both Inter's youthful manager Andrea Strammachioni and Harambee Stars coach Henri Michel.

The Nerrazuri are currently placed second on the Serie A log after 12 games, five points adrift league leaders and defending champions Juventus.
