thumbnail Hello,

The Dutchman has come under fierce criticism from club supporters following his 'cagey' approach against Logarusic's side in past meetings

AFC Leopards coach Jan Koops says his side will be out to attack Gor Mahia when the two sides meet in the semi-finals of the FKF Cup on Saturday evening.

The Dutchman came under fierce criticism from club supporters following his 'cagey' approach against Zdravko Logarusic's side the last time the two teams met, with K'Ogalo grabbing a two goal lead within the first half and holding on to triumph 2-1.

"I agree, we made some mistakes the last time we played Gor Mahia especially in the first half, however we have spent the entire week working on that and hopefully our approach will pay dividends come Saturday," Koops told

"Gor Mahia are a strong team so we have to set up our side to counter what they have at their disposal, but at the same time, I am someone who believes in attack and attack."

Koops who has been in charge at Ingwe for the past 18 months, also says he is satisfied with the overall performance of the team this season.

"I believe we have been subject to unfair criticism this season. Look at Sofapaka, they led the (league) standings after the first leg, then in the second leg lost 29 points, compared to us, you can say that is a disaster."

"Also, we never participated in the Top Eight tournament, besides we are in the semi-finals of the domestic cup, regarding the (league) title we were in it until the final day. I believe we can beat Gor Mahia on Saturday, we need to win this cup to qualify for continental football next season."
