Kenyan Premier League (KPL) side Karuturi Sports has cracked the whip by sacking 10 players just a week after the 2012 season came to an end.
The affected players are Peter Juma, former AFC Leopards and Sony Sugar attacking midfielder Jack”Kadwaro” Omondi, Kevin Omondi, Allan Omondi, Mustapha Ogutu, Yusuf Siruma, Jeff Odongo, Steve Biko, Alfred Chole and Nathan Munai.
Club Vice Chairman Stephen Masaku cited dormancy and failure to given maximum input as the reason behind the decision to send the ten packing.
“Most of the players have been earning salaries for several months but not giving their best which does not translate well for our company. We are investing in football and we want success,” Masaku told Goal.com.
“After our evaluation, we felt it was right to release the aforementioned players as part of our restructuring which is geared towards posting better results in the coming season.”
The 'flower' men finished at position 12 on the log with 32 points .When reached for comment, head coach Michael Nam declined to comment on the matter.
