Nyamweya says the decision to print 30, 000 tickets from 20, 000 has been necessitated by the fact that a big crowd is expected for the match
The number of tickets for the FKF Cup derby pitting Gor Mahia against AFC Leopards has been increased from 25, 000 to 30, 000 and will go on sale starting Friday, one day ahead of the match on Saturday.
Kenya FA President Sam Nyamweya says the number has been increased because “a big crowd is expected to attend the match.”
“We have unanimously agreed as Kenya FA and both club representatives that 30, 000 tickets are printed,” said Nyamweya.
“Fans should only purchase tickets at designated areas to avoid being sold fake tickets. The tickets will be sold by Bob Morgan at the Kenya Cinema, Kencom and inside Kasarani on Friday and on Saturday there will be a ticket van outside the stadium.”
He added: “We have decided to ban fans who cause trouble during or after matches from the stadia for life. We have also put very serious security conditions for clubs participating in the league next season to ensure high levels of security.”
The other semi-final between Tusker and Sofapaka will be played on Sunday at City Stadium. Both matches will be screened live by pay TV channel Superport.
