The Dar-based side, who finished second during the regional Cecafa tourney earlier this year, have gained a reputation as a stable outfit with a knack of luring top notch players since gaining promotion to the Tanzanian top flight league five years ago.
Meanwhile, Asike who has grown in stature over the last two years and is currently a constant figure for club and country has welcomed the interest.
“It’s good to be linked with quality teams; this means somebody is appreciating my work. I am open to negotiations and a move. This season wasn’t the best for my club (Sofapaka FC), but I believe I did my best.”
Goal.com Kenya understands that immediate former Sofapaka coach Stewart Hall, has strongly recommended the recruitment of Asike who has been nominated for the defender of the year award in the KPL, alongside teammate Humphrey Mieno to the Chamadzi outfit.
