Goal.com had revealed earlier that the duo will not be available for Kenya’s friendly tie against Tanzania's Taifa Stars scheduled for WednesdayAs exclusively revealed by Goal.com, the unavailability of Celtic midfielder Victor Wanyama and first choice custodian Arnold Origi, has forced the technical bench to recall Gor Mahia midfielder Anthony Akumu and Ulinzi goalkeeper Jacton Odhiambo.
Goal.com confirmed on Monday that Wanyama and Origi will not be available for Kenya’s friendly match against Tanzania's Taifa Stars set for Wednesday in Mwanza, Tanzania.
Wanyama is said to have picked an injury while playing for Celtic in the weekend's league match while no explanation had been given in regards to Origi's absence.
"The coach has been forced to make some adjusments to the squad by recalling Anthony Akumu (Gor Mahia) and Jacton Odhiambo (Ulinzi Stars) as replacements for Wanyama and Origi respectively," a FKF officials said.
The friendly match falls within Fifa calendar and per the Fifa statutes, clubs are obligated to release players for national assignment.
