Celtic midfielder Wanyama and custodian Origi ruled out of Kenya friendly

Kenya FA media liaison officer reveals to Goal.com that Wanyama picked an injury during his team's league match and thus will not be available
Harambee Stars and Celtic holding midfielder Victor Wanyama and first choice goalkeeper Arnold Origi will not be available for Kenya’s friendly match against Tanzania's Taifa Stars set for Wednesday in Mwanza, Tanzania.

According to FKF media liaison officer John Kariuki, Wanyama has an injury he picked in his team's league match over the weekend and thus will not be available for national team duty.

"We have lost Wanyama to injury and he will not be available," Kariuki told Goal.com.

Origi will also not be available though no reason has been given over his pending absence. The friendly match falls within Fifa calendar and per the Fifa statutes, clubs are obligated to release players for national assignment.

Belgian based Ayub Timbe is expected by Monday. Other foreign based players including skipper Dennis Oliech, Patrick Osiako, Brian Mandela, and Jerry Santos have joined camp.

Head coach Henri Michel is set to hold a media briefing on Monday evening before the team jets out on Tuesday aboard Precision airline.
