The lethal Baraza was tied on 17 goals with Gor Mahia's Dan Sserunkuma but the former scored against the flower men to take his season's tally to 18
Sofapaka's veteran Striker John Baraza pipped Gor Mahia's dreadlocked striker Dan Sserunkuma to the golden boot award after scoring the winning goal against Karuturi Sports to take his season's tally to 18.
The two strikers were tied on 17 goals and either needed to outscore the other to run away with the prestigious prize.
The ever green Baraza, who was returning to action after missing last weekend's match, rose to the occasion to give his side the winner after Joseph Nyagah had leveled the scoreline.
For Sserunkuma, the script was different as his team laboured to hold Thika United to a 1-1 draw. Baraza will now be feted alongside other players on November 21 at the annual Footballer of the Year award ceremony(FOYA).
Last season, Ulinzi Stars striker Stephen Waruru scooped the award.
