The announcement ends months of speculation after FKF threatened to boycott the tourney following a clash of fixtures between the competition and the African Nations Championships qualifiers.
FKF Chairman Sam Nyamweya confirmed the new development. "We have decided to send our national team to this year’s Cecafa after strong persuasion from Cecafa chairman Leodgar Tenga, whom we meet on Thursday in Dar Es Salaam. We will also honour the CHAN qualifier against Burundi on the initial proposed dates."
The latest news will also send a message that the Kenyan FA and their CECAFA counterparts are mending their relationship following months of animosity between the two associations that was spiked by the shift in hosting rights of this year's tournament from Nairobi to Kampala.
The 36th edition of the annual CECAFA Senior challenge cup will be held at the Namboole and Nakivubo stadia in Kampala from November 24 to December 8.
