Coach John Kamau says the club his elated to have finally retained the star striker, who this season has found the back of the net eleven times
Aswani signed the two year deal on Wednesday. The club's head coach John Kamau Irungu said that he was glad the player had renewed his terms of engagement .
”I have great hope and faith in the young lad, he has room to grow into the kind of striker we want and also in the recent history of Thika United, we have never had single striker score so many goals. I am happy with Kepha’s development and I know he has a lot to offer."
Aswani has so far scored eleven goals this season, making him one of the league's top scorers alongside Sofapaka's John Baraza who has 17 goals.
Irungu disclosed that the club has axed two players in a bid to trim the squad ahead of next season. Those affected are Liberian defender Maurice Dukuly and midfielder Geoffrey Muhando.
"Its true that we have dropped the duo not because of performance but as a result of the large number of squad we currently have. I inherited a very big squad of 38 players which i am trying to trim. I need a maximum of 25 players that i can easily manage.''
