English tactician Stewart Hall registers first win on four attempts since joining Sofapaka as they beat the taxmen to reach semis of the domestic Cup

2010 FKF champions Sofapaka secured a semi-final berth in the tournament, after coming from behind to defeat a stubborn KRA FC in a quarter final match played at the City Stadium.

This was coach Stewart Hall's first competitive win on his fourth attempt. The Nationwide side got off to a bright start with forward Micheal Macharia's effort flying inches away. Sofapaka responded with Humprey Mieno directing his header towards the cross bar.

The tax collectors silenced a majority of the spectators at the Council venue in the 18th minutes after taking a surprise lead courtesy of Macharia's well taken penalty kick.

The upper hand only lasted 12 minutes however, as George Owino, who is slowly getting back to his best after a spell on the sidelines through injury, rose above everyone to head home a well executed making a comeback from Osbourne Monday free-kick.

Sofapaka suffered a potentially huge setback midway through the second half after top scorer John Baraza pulled out of the game with a suspected hamstring injury.

But the 'Batoto ba Mungu' more than made amends for that through Humprey Mieno's strike with only one minute of regulation time remaining.
