Rakki Asman reveals that SSMB is incurring huge losses due to vandalizing of the chairs at the recently refurbished 60,000 seater Kasarani Stadium

The Sports Stadia Management Board has appealed to fans attending matches at their venues to exercise caution within the premises.

Speaking to Goal.com Kenya in an interview, the Board's Public Relations Officer Rakki Asman revealed that SSMB is incurring huge losses due to vandalizing of the chairs at the recently refurbished 60,000 seater Kasarani stadium.

"Fans don't sit on the seats, instead they step on them. When they (seats) become weak, they then remove them. We are forced to replace 80 chairs after each game. We have even run out of stock the contractor left behind."

The Moi International Sports Stadia is the only public facility in the country that has installed seats. The venue was recently renovated in an agreement between the Kenyan Government and their Chinese counterparts.

"We are in the process of installing CCTV cameras at the ground. Thereafter we will be forced to arrest anyone caught vandalizing the facility and ask the police to prefer charges against them."
