FKF Chairman Sam Nyamweya says they will agree to CAF's new proposal to reschedule CHAN fixtures after they discuss with opponents BurundiFootball Kenya Federation Chairman Sam Nyamweya says Kenya will only respond to the latest proposal by Confederation of African Football (CAF) regarding change in CHAN fixture dates after discussing with opponents Burundi on the same.
However, Nyamweya said the dates proposed by Caf, December 14-16 will not be suitable for Kenya because "our players' and coaches will be on vacation."
"I don't think it will be possible for us to play on the aforementioned dates. We need to sit and discuss the issue with our brothers Burundi to come up with suitable dates," Nyamweya told Goal.com Kenya.
"To the best of my knowledge, that is only a proposal from CAF. We will reach out to Burundi whom we are facing in the preliminary round and try get to a consensus."
"It has to be noted that any proposed new dates must be agreed by both parties and the same communicated to CAF who are the organizers of the CHAN tournament."The continental governing body have proposed new dates for the tournament's preliminary qualifying matches, to enable the smooth running and completion of the annual Senior Challenge Cup tournament scheduled to take place in Uganda.
Harambee Stars head coach Henri Michel has publicly indicated his preference to participate at the CHAN qualifiers as compared to the CECAFA tournament.
