thumbnail Hello,

Musonye terms as absolutely nonsense Kenya FA's intentions to petition Cecafa Congress to kick him out as the regional body's secretary general

Council for East and Central Africa Football Association (CECAFA) Secretary General Nicholas Musonye has laughed off threats to remove him from the regional association.

Musonye dared Kenya to go ahead and attempt to remove him during the CECAFA Congress in Uganda later in the year.

"It is absolute nonsense what they are intending to do. Let them try and they will end up being humiliated. Iam not afraid of them," he said.

Musonye further claimed that world body FIFA has instructed him to take unspecified action against Kenya if they pull out of the regional tournament.

"FIFA are keenly watching what Kenya will do and they have asked me to take stern action against them if they pull out. Let them not mess with CECAFA," said Musonye.

Earlier on Friday, the Kenya federation through chairman Sam Nyamweya said they are planning to petition Cecafa’s national Congress to have Musonye removed from his post.

Nyamweya said that as federation they have already expressed their disappointment in the manner Musonye has treated Kenya, whom he termed as senior member of Cecafa.

‘’From Musonye’s endless attacks of our federation and that of our national coach, it is clear that he was behind our denial of the hosting rights. He instigated the switch of hosting the 2012 Senior Challenge Cup from Kenya to Uganda despite the rights having been given to Kenya.’’

‘’Musonye has severally attacked Kenya in his statements which have clearly shown that he is completely anti Kenya.’’
