Paul Mungai Kiongera, Edwin Mwaura and Geoffrey Maina scored for KCB while Baldwin Ngwa pulled a consolation goal for his struggling side
KCB hit bottom placed Rangers FC 3-1 in a league match played on Monday at the Nairobi City Stadium to pile misery to the relegation candidates whose chances of survival are becoming slim by each passing day.
Paul Mungai Kiongera, Edwin Mwaura and Geoffrey Maina scored for KCB while Baldwin Ngwa pulled a consolation goal for his side.
The bankers who went into the match thirsty for a win took an early lead in the 1st minute when danger man Paul Mungai Kiongera made a break through to lob over Rangers goal keeper Victor Omondi.
Action continued from one end of the pitch to the other and bankers who were thirsting for a big win stretched their lead in the 30th minute when Mwaura pounced on a spilled ball in the box by Rangers goalkeeper.
Kiongera had unleashed a hard drive from the left flank which Omondi found to hot to handle only for Mwaura to tap in. Their celebration was however, short lived as Cameroonian import and on -loan from Gor Mahia Ngwa pulled one for the struggling side just a minute after the bankers goal.
Ngwa picked a neat pass from Japhary Oyando at the centre half and raced towards the bankers goal making no mistake with the ball as he chipped it over keeper Sammy Okinda.
Geoffrey Maina then put the icing on the cake in the nick of half time with a close range volley leaving keeper Omondi well beaten. The win saw KCB move two places up to settle for position ten, while Rangers remain rock bottom.
