AFC Leopards defender Erick Masika has recovered from a hamstring injury and is in line for a return to action against Gor Mahia on Saturday.
Masika, the most expensive defender in the Kenyan Premier League, has been sidelined for the past 10 days with the ailment, and 'Ingwe' have struggled to cope without him especially in last weekend's game against Western Stima.
Leopards coach Jan Koops has confirmed that the Kenyan international is fit and ready for the grueling last run of games.
"He (Masika) is ready; he did not play against Stima because he hadn't fully recovered. I am relived (he is available),” he told Goal.com Kenya.
Koops also reiterated that the team will be ready for Gor Mahia, in a match they cannot afford to lose.
“Tusker's result (2-0m win over KCB) highlights the importance of this match. We have lost our advantage but we have the means and tools to finish strongly.”
Masika who moved to AFC Leopards from Gor Mahia for a reported Ksh500,000/- (USD 6,000) after one of the most protracted transfer battle in Kenyan football history, and will be keen to secure a psychological edge of his former team mates, as well as rejuvenate the fading title hopes of his own team.
