The management of Kenyan Premier League (KPL) side AFC Leopards are rumored to be on the verge of effecting changes to the technical bench.
AFC Leopards who lead the sixteen team table standings on 45 points, have recently undergone a dismal run of form culminating into last Saturday's 2-1 defeat to Western Stima.
Goal.com Kenya understands that the club's Executive Committee held an emergency session on Sunday evening where it was resolved that some 'cosmetic' changes be made to the technical bench to rejuvenate the squad ahead of the remaining league matches.
Goalkeeping coach Mohammed Fwaya, who has been accused of frequently skipping training session, is believed to be amongst those earmarked for replacement.
Incidentally the club's second choice custodian Baranbas Tiema assumed the role between the posts in the encounter against Stima, and was blamed by most quarters for his positioning in the run up to the decisive second goal the team conceded just before halftime.
The other member of the technical bench set for the axe according to the source could be team manager Bernard Onyango. The committee however, is undecided whether to effect the changes immediately or after the crucial league derby against rivals and second placed Gor Mahia this Sunday.
"Fans are demanding for positive results. Everyone who sits in the committee is into the agreement that changes are effected to the technical bench. The only question is when,” said the source.
Ugly scenes were witnessed after the defeat by Stima with fans holding hostage the team’s bus demanding for answers to the team’s recent poor run. Four of the fans, who were arrested, were arraigned in a Nakuru court on Monday.
