Ulinzu coach Sammy Simiyu happy with the return of striker Ochomo as they prepare for the decisive league match against Sofapaka on Sunday
Ulinzi Stars head coach Sammy Simiyu has been impressed with the return to form of striker Wycliffe Ochomo, who has been out injured for close to three months.
The lethal striker made a comeback on Thursday as the army men thrashed Nakuru Olympic 3-0 in a friendly match played at Afraha Stadium.
Ochomo bagged the second goal after striker Stephen Waruru had grabbed the opener and coach Simiyu was more than satisfied with the return of the stocky striker.
“He (Ochomo) has shown great improvement and was very positive. We are only gauging on his match fitness and decide whether he will be part of the last 18 or not. I am very happy with the response I have seen from him as well as Kelvin and Erick Apul."
Ulinzi used the match to gauge the fitness of the players returning from injury and especially Ochomo ahead of their league match with Sofapaka at the same venue on Sunday.
“We played very well and all players showed great improvement. The win is morale boosting because it gave us a chance to get our confidence back especially on scoring.”
