Coach Simiyu says he will use the friendly to help build the team's confidence especially in scoring an area that has been of great concern
Ulinzi Stars will play a friendly warm up match against local side Nakuru Olympic on Thursday at the Afraha Stadium.
Coach Sammy Simiyu confirmed that the friendly will help boost the teams confidence especially in scoring, an area that has been of great concern in the last few matches.
Coach Simiyu also said he will use the friendly to test the fitness of the players who are back from injury.
“We will play Olympic on Thursday with the main aim being to gauge the team’s improvement and also give them a chance to have a morale boosting opportunity especially in scoring," Simiyu told the club’s official website.
On the team’s training, the tactician says he is impressed with the spirit and determination.
“We are on day two of training and so far so good. The response has been great and the players have responded well to training and they are showing determination to win the weekend match. I like the spirit.”
The former Kenya league champions are preparing to face Sofapaka in a decisive match on September 16 at Afraha Stadium.
