Coach Sammy Simiyu hails the return of the trio as they prepare for a league match with Sofapaka at Afraha Stadium in Nakuru on Sunday
Ulinzi Stars squad has been boosted with the return of three keys players’ ahead of their Kenya league match against 2009 champions Sofapaka on September 16 (Sunday).
Midiflder Erick Apul, striker Wycillife Ochomo and Kelvin Simiyu have all resumed training after being passed fit to return to action.
Apul has been out of action for the last three months after picking injury in training; Ochomo pulled a hamstring also in training while Simiyu has been fighting a bout of malaria.
Ulinzi coach Sammy Simiyu, who is under pressure to deliver the goods, was happy to have the trio back as they prepare for the Sofapaka battle.
“Ochomo started light training last week and he has been responding very well. This week he has started the normal training with the rest of the team and in a matter of one or two weeks he will be back fully fit and ready for action,” said Simiyu.
Ochomo, while speaking on his return said he is focused on getting his name back on the score sheet. The last time Ochomo scored was in the first match of the second leg away to Muhoroni Youth.
“I have had a bad feeling being out for two weeks and then also with the team not performing well. I believe we have been playing good football only that we have been unlucky in scoring. I also want to get back to my scoring touch and that is the main thing I want to concentrate on this week in training,” said Ochomo.
