Gor Mahia will hold a major dinner on the eve of their eagerly awaited Kenyan El-Classico clash against rivals AFC Leopards at Moi Kasarani on September 23 "as a motivation to their players."
Gor Mahia Secretary General George Bwana revealed to Goal.com Kenya on Saturday that the function will be held either at Hilton or Intercontinental Hotel with entry charges pegged at Sh5, 000.
He said the team's management deemed it necessary for the event to be held at a five-star facility and that the actual venue will be announced in due course.
Bwana hinted that the proceeds from the function will go towards motivating the squad.
“Whatever will be collected will be shared out amongst the players and the arrangement is geared towards instilling morale in order to reap maximum points in the remaining fixtures.”
“The league has reached a crucial stage and given that Gor has bounced back into contention for the title it is only in order that the management motivates the team to help realize desired results.”
He said the response from the fans was already overwhelming. “The response is overwhelming and I can only urge the club's fans to come in large numbers.”
Meanwhile, Gor coach Zdravko Logarusic on Saturday moved into his new apartment at the up market Kileleshwa neighborhood.
The Nairobi governor's seat aspirant, Evans Kidero donated the apartment to the Croatian tactician and committed to paying its monthly rent charges.
