Gor Mahia hero against Ulinzi Stars Victor Ali Obondo is confident that no team will stop his side from marching to the top of the Kenya premiership.
Ali, who struck the winner against the army men in the 60th minute after combining well with play maker Moses Odhiambo to fire home from a tight angle, insists they still have got enough in the tank to complete the season in a high.
“We are enjoying a good run in the league and I don’t see any team that will stop our quest to unseat AFC Leopards at the top of the log,” Ali told Goal.com Kenya.
The win against Ulinzi stretched Gor Mahia’s unbeaten record to eleven matches and saw them reduce the gap with leaders AFC to four points.
“It was a tough match and the stakes were high and it was a good feeling to have scored the winner.”
“It was not because of my own effort but because of my team mates and I dedicate the goal to them and also hail ‘Mose’ for the pass.’’
“We still have seven matches to play for and our contest with AFC next weekend will determine the destiny of the league.”
Gor head coach Zdravko Logarusic hailed the teams’ resilient to stop Ulinzi.
“We are very happy with this win and the three points picked. It was a good performance and the fact that we are now in the top three shows the efforts we have put in our campaign.”
“Our priority right now is to focus on the next game. We are taking each match at a time.’’
