The club’s chairman James Musyoki however, could not divulge the names of the coaches they have shortlisted but said they are going through applications of eleven foreigners who have shown interest in the job.
“As the board of Tusker FC we do not want to jump the gun. We have had tremendous interest from top coaches who want to coach Tusker. We have whittled the applicants to eleven but I can only give a timeline of which we will make an announcement,” said Musyoki.
“By Friday we will have made a decision and we will name the next head coach of the club,” he told Goal.com.
Last week, Musyoki confirmed they had been in contact with Portuguese Eduardo Almeida who has been coaching Tanzania club African Lyon.
But it has also emerged that Briton Tom Legg has also presented his papers.
Tusker is currently being coached by George Maina on temporary basis.
Omollo was sacked after a series of poor performances that saw the reiging Kenya premiership champions eliminated from the East and Central Africa Club championships in the first round without scoring a goal and also in the KPL Top Eight by Gor Mahia before later losing to Mathare United in the league.
The team however, recovered to beat Sony Sugar 1-0 in the league, their first win under coach Maina.
