Sources reveal that both players will be involved with their respective clubs in Europe leagues hence won't be available for the build up match
Harambee Stars captain Dennis Oliech and midfielder Victor Wanyama will not feature for the Kenyan national team in the friendly match against Jamaica next week.
Sources close to the two have revealed a variety of reasons ranging from the timing of the tie, and the busy schedule with respective clubs as the reasons behind the withdrawals.
"Dennis (Oliech) is busy searching for a new club at the moment. He would have been open to playing, if this match was in Europe," the source told Goal.com.
On the other hand, Victor Wanyama's club Celtic FC is unwilling to release the combative defensive midfielder considering the backlog of fixtures in the near future.
The Scottish Premier League 2012 - 2013 officially kicked-off two weeks ago, and 'The Bhoys' are lined up for a match on August 24, a day before the Stars' game, plus the return leg of the UEFA Champions League third round match against Helsinborgs on August 29.
Oliech of France side Auxerre and Wanyama are among the professionals caretaker coach James Nandwa had named in a 23-man squad for the friendly match to be played in Connecticut, USA. Others are goalkeeper Arnold Origi of Ulkisa in Norway and defender Brian Mandela of Sanlam Santos in South Africa.
Coach Nandwa said on Thursday that he already has replacements for the duo. “We will have to use players’ we already have in camp and definitely I have a plan B for that and there should be no cause for alarm.”
The team broke camp on Thursday to allow players turn out for their respective clubs in the Kenya Premier League (KPL) fixtures lined up for Saturday and Sunday.
