TEAM NEWS: Vermaelen on the bench as Rosicky starts for Arsenal against Bayern Munich

Arsene Wenger hands a start to Olivier Giroud and Tomas Rosicky, while Kieran Gibbs makes his long-awaited return to action after overcoming a thigh injury
Thomas Vermaelen is relegated to the bench for Arsenal's last-16 second leg clash as the Gunners look to defy the odds to overturn their 3-1 deficit at Bayern Munich.

Wojciech Szczesny makes way for Lukasz Fabianski in goal, whilst Kieran Gibbs has overcome a thigh injury to make his first appearance since the side's 2-2 draw at Liverpool in late January.

Striker Lukas Podolski misses out on the chance to face his former side after being ruled out with an ankle injury, with Olivier Giroud taking his place at the helm of the Arsenal attack.

Meanwhile, Tomas Rosicky is handed a rare start for the Gunners to cover for the injured Jack Wilshere.

For the hosts, Bastian Schweinsteiger and Franck Ribery miss out as expected, and are replaced by Luiz Gustavo and Arjen Robben respectively.
