The Spaniard has allayed any fears that he is unhappy with his less prominent role in Chelsea's squad following the signing of the former Newcastle striker

Chelsea striker Fernando Torres has stated that he has "no problems" with squad rotation following Demba Ba's arrival at the club.

The Spaniard has only featured intermittently as the two strikers have started in alternate games, both of them beginning three of the last six, and coming on as a substitute in the other three.

Torres has failed to score in his last nine games for the club, with his last strike coming in the 8-0 rout of Aston Villa before Christmas.

Ba, meanwhile, has fared better since his arrival, scoring on two separate occasions against Southampton, though his team-mate is keen to assert that he is comfortable with the new striking competition.

"When you have players in the same position, the decision on who plays is down to the manager. Whatever decision he makes is for the best of the team," Torres told the club's official website.

"We are team-mates; sometimes we will play together, sometimes Demba [Ba] will play and other times it will be me. There is no problem at all; it happens with other positions all the time. We have to be a team and that's the main thing."

The striker was also keen to laud praise upon the FA Cup, hailing the atmosphere of games against lower-league opposition in anticipation of his side's Fourth Round tie with Brentford on Sunday.

"It's nice to go and play away against teams from the lower divisions because of the fans and the passion they have. For them, it's a chance to beat a top side, and they're always special occasions," he continued.

"The atmosphere you feel in these games is completely different to the Premier League. It's their only opportunity to play against a big team. It will be like a final for them, but we must treat it in the same way because if you relax in this sort of match you will lose."
