Villas-Boas hits back at Redknapp over 'dope' dig

The Tottenham boss has slammed his QPR counterpart for suggesting it would be difficult not to succeed at Chelsea - the club from which the Portuguese was recently sacked
Tottenham manager Andre-Villas Boas has hit back at Harry Redknapp over the QPR boss' recent assertion that "only a real dope" could fail at Chelsea.

The Portuguese was sacked by the west London club halfway through last season, with Roberto Di Matteo going on to lift the Champions League and FA Cup as his successor.

Upon being informed of the jibe from the 65-year-old ahead of the managers going toe-to-toe this weekend, Villas-Boas sent his own barb at Redknapp.

He told reporters: "Only if you manage the club can you find out. You have to be able to access a club like that to experience it.

"It’s a different type of club. You have to experience it and then you have to survive in it."

The former Porto coach went on to dismiss further questions regarding the Englishman, saying: "No. I have never spoken to him," when probed by journalists.
