TEAM NEWS: Adebayor & Defoe lead the line for Tottenham but Bale misses out again

Andre Villas-Boas has gone with two strikers up front against Michael Laudrup's side as he welcomes Scott Parker back to the bench, while Michu leads the line for the visitors

Andre Villas-Boas has elected to start Emmanuel Adebayor and Jermain Defoe up front once again for the visit of Swansea, while Gareth Bale is still missing for Tottenham he failed to recover from a hamstring injury.

Danny Graham and Itay Shechter have to settle for a play on the Swansea bench while Michu has been chosen to lead the line after scoring 12 goals in the Premier League this season.

Hugo Lloris retains his place in goal ahead of Brad Friedel, while Clint Dempsey has taken Bale's role on the left. Scott Parker is on the bench for the hosts after recovering from his long-term Achilles problem.

Nathan Dyer, Wayne Routledge and Michu will form a front three for the Swans, who are looking for three points that could send them fifth in the league. Spurs meanwhile could go fourth with a win at White Hart Lane.

Tottenham starting XI:Lloris; Walker, Gallas, Vertonghen, Naughton; Lennon, Sandro, Dembele, Dempsey; Adebayor Defoe.

Subs: Friedel, Caulker, Huddlestone, Sigurdsson, Parker, Livermore, Townsend.

Swansea starting XI: Tremmel; Tiendalli, Williams, Chico, Davies; Britton, De Guzman, Ki; Dyer, Routledge, Michu.

Subs: Cornell, Monk, Richards, Shechter, Agustien, Moore, Graham.
