Jones set for Manchester United return after resuming training
The 20-year-old has not played for the Premier League leaders this season after battling with a knee injury but is in line to make a first-team comeback at the weekend
Manchester United have been handed a major boost with the news that Phil Jones could make a return to first-team action at the weekend after resuming training on Monday. The defender has yet to feature this season having battled with a back problem and then suffered an injury to his knee cartilage.
However, ahead of a trip to Carrow Road to face Norwich City, the Red Devils will have their defensive ranks bolstered by the 20-year-old.
Sir Alex Ferguson is still without Nemanja Vidic due to a knee issue and recently lost Jonny Evans to a groin strain in the victory over Braga.
With the Scot eager to hold back Chris Smalling following his own return from a lengthy injury absence, the news of Jones' recovery will be a timely boost.
Jones has five caps for England but was overlooked by Roy Hodgson as he selected his Euro 2012 squad.
