Togo coach Didier Six threatens to quit

The Frenchman says he will bow out if the Togo Football Federation fails to pay funds owed to him within the next week

Togo coach Didier Six has issued an ultimatum to the Football Federation to reimburse 65 million CFA Francs (€100,000) he spent from his pocket to sponsor the technical staff to Europe for Togolese players.

The 58-year-old Frenchman said the money was used for air tickets, accommodation and transport, etc, during their numerous trips to Europe.

The Football Federation has declined the existence of such bills and said it would not pay any money to the coach.

Six refused to prepare the Sparrow Hawks’ list for the forthcoming World Cup qualifiers against Cameroon and Libya next month.

Bottom-placed in Group I with one point, Togo will host leaders of the group the Indomitable Lions in Lome on June 9.
