thumbnail Hello,

The Gabon football federation has filed a complaint to CAF to replace the official designated to preside over the 2013 Afcon qualifying match against Togo on October 14 in Lome

Gabon football federation (Fegafoot) on Thursday said it had complained to CAF about the referee chosen to officiate the return leg of the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying against Togo in Lome on October 14, asking for a replacement.

Caf on Wednesday named Seechurn Rajindraparsad to take charge of the encounter, but neither the Mauritian nor his linesmen were embraced by the Gabonese officials, who say the team robbed the Panthers of a vital win in November 2009 during the final match day of the 2010 Afcon-World Cup qualifiers against Togo in Lome.

Caf has not reacted to the Fegafoot’s remonstrance and it is yet unclear whether the body will name another referee with less than two weeks to the meeting.

The Sparrow Hawks held Gabon to a 1-1 draw in the first leg played in Libreville and coach Didier Six says he is confident Togo will triumph in the reverse fixture and book their place for next year’s showpiece.

Togo named a 23-man roster on Wednesday for the clash, however, the team’s top striker Emmanuel Adebayor and Wolverhampton forward Razak Boukari remain doubtful, according to the French coach.
