Borussia Dortmund striker Julian Schieber has insisted he is determined to become a success at his new club, after an inconsistent start to his career at the Bundesliga champions.
Despite rumours of a move away in January, the striker - who only joined the German champions in the summer - has reiterated his desire to stay and win titles with Dortmund.“In my situation, I have unfortunately not always played... [but] I continue to give my all on a daily basis," he told reporters.
“I will not throw in the towel. I'm already looking forward to next season. I am not thinking about anything else. I'm absolutely flexible and committed to working until the day I am back in the starting line-up and on the field.”
And when asked about the future of Robert Lewandowksi at the club, Schieber said the squad was ignoring the transfer rumours, adding they had not affected their displays.
“It does not affect the team at all. The story has simply been blown out of proportion by the media, but it does not matter for us.“This is the business of football. Of course, there is bound to be a lot of speculation.
"If such a player was to leave the club, he would leave a big gap due to his great performances, but then we'd just get a new player in.”
