Diary of a Punter: A 11/4 pick from Saturday's FA Cup action
Jim Knight is lowering his stakes for the unpredictable FA Cup action but has seen some value in backing Anthony Knockaert to score against Huddersfield
It is difficult to pin-point the value in the FA Cup from a betting perspective. Bradford's heroics in the Capital One Cup showed how lower league opposition can conquer Premier League teams time and again in cup competitions, so caution should be taken before backing the top tier clubs. Not every manager will rotate plenty of players but it remains difficult to gauge how seriously different clubs are taking the competition, and in any case, shocks still happen despite a strong team being named, just ask Wigan, Aston Villa and Arsenal.
Anthony Knockaert to score anytime at 11/4 (3.75) with Paddy Power
Leicester City travel to Huddersfield Town on Saturday afternoon and I like the look of the 11/4 (3.75) available on 21-year-old winger Anthony Knockaert scoring in this fixture.
Since arriving from Ligue 2 side Guingamp in the summer, Knockaert has garnered a lot of plaudits for his impressive performances. He was blooded into the side relatively slowly, making several substitute appearances in the Championship before cementing a place in Nigel Pearson's starting 11. An eye-catching goal in the Capital One Cup defeat to Burton certainly helped his case.
The 21-year-old, who has represented his country at Under-21 level, runs directly at defenders from wide areas which often means he finds himself in shooting positions and is also very dangerous from distance.
He has scored seven goals in the blue of Leicester City and, astonishingly, four of those have come against Huddersfield Town.
A double in each of the Championship meetings against the Terriers - who were hit for six in the last clash just weeks ago - means the 11/4 (3.75) about him extending that record with Paddy Power appeals. £10 of my bankroll will go onto this one and it'll be my only bet for the weekend.
