Aston Villa - Reading Betting Preview: Lambert's men good value to enjoy home comforts

Aston Villa - Reading Betting Preview: Lambert's men good value to enjoy home comforts

The Villans claimed a good point when they faced Arsenal at the weekend and Willie Duncan is backing them to build on that by seeing off Brian McDermott's side

Paul Lambert will be hoping for more of the same from his men when they play host to Brian McDermott’s Reading on Tuesday night.

Aston Villa ground out a hard fought 0-0 draw with Arsenal on Saturday, but with both sides currently languishing in the bottom three of the Premier League table going into this match, there is plenty at stake.

Villa, with home advantage here, are chalked up at even money (2.0) favourites with William Hill to pick up all three points, while the Royals can be backed at a chunky 3/1 (4.0) with the same firm.

William Hill offers 11/5 (3.20) that the match ends in a draw.

Reading have collected just two points from six matches on the road this season and have conceded 12 goals away from home.

As a result this match surely presents an opportunity for shot-shy Villa, who have managed just 10 Premier League goals this season, to improve upon their solid if unspectacular home record.

William Hill's special 'headline offer' of 5/2 (3.50) that Belgium striker Christian Benteke scores at any time in a home win, while the same firm go 7/1 (8.0) that Reading's Adam Le Fondre is on target in a victory for the visitors.

Le Fondre is The Royals' top league scorer so far this term with three goals to his name but, with Villa likely to dominate the fixture, Benteke, who has bagged four goals in all competitions, looks to be the value pick of William Hill's 'headline offers' at 5/2 (3.50) and this offer should be backed accordingly.

It is worth noting that Paul Lambert’s men have lost just two of their last six matches – against Manchester United and Manchester City respectively - and with Reading having won just one of their last nine matches, the hosts look to represent super value at even money (2.0) here.
