With Tito Vilanova's side in the habit of conceding as well as scoring, our Spain expert Phil Kitromilides believes there will be goals at both ends this evening
The Catalans had to come from behind in that encounter to earn a 3-2 win and the speed and precision with which Spartak counterattacked will still be fresh in the mind of Tito Vilanova.
Yet Barca naturally remain massive favourites priced at 2/7 (1.28) by Bet365 for the win.
Their hosts this evening, who have several injury concerns, can be backed at 10/1 (11.00) with the draw offered at 9/2 (5.50).
One bet however, stands out a mile in this game and that is for both teams to score which is offered at the extremely generous price of 4/5 (1.80).
If we analyse the statistics there is no way this bet should be that high a price, given that three of Barcelona's four Champions League matches this season have seen both teams score, and indeed six of their last seven Liga matches have seen goals at both ends.
Barca have only managed to keep three clean sheets in 12 Liga games and the thinking is if the likes of Osasuna, Getafe and Mallorca can find the back of the net against the Blaugrana, then a team with the attacking potential of Spartak should have little trouble in doing so.
In the value bet market the correct score of 2-1 to the Spanish side could be of interest priced at 8/1 (9.00) and while correct score bets are by their nature long shots, they offer high rewards and usually maintain one's interest for the majority of the game.
