Greece - Bosnia Betting Preview: Why the Greeks will be the last team to score in Athens
Backing Ethniki to score last in competitive matches has proved extremely profitable over the last two years, as Phil Kitromilides explains
Bosnia-Herzogovina make the short trip across the Balkans to face a Greek side who have an extremely impressive home record. It is almost four years to the day since Greece last lost a competitive match on their own turf, and Bet365 price them at 21/20 (2.05) to claim victory this evening.
Bosnia meanwhile come into the match in eye-catching goal scoring form having thrashed Liechenstein 8-1 and Latvia 4-1 in their two previous matches and can be backed at 13/5 (3.60) to win, with the draw offered at 11/5 (3.20).
Yet when Greece are involved in competitive games there is only one bet worth investing in, and that is to back them to be the last team to score offered at 8/11 (1.72). This bet has paid out in 15 of the 16 competitive games that Greece have played since coach Fernando Santos took over in 2010.
Meanwhile Bosnia have conceded the last goal in five of their last seven matches, making this look a nailed on selection at a price big enough for some serious investment.
In the value bet market, backing the first goal to be scored between 51-60 minutes at 11/1 (12.00) could prove to be a shrewd move. Greece have scored in this period in each of their last four matches, while Bosnia have found the net at this time in two of their last three games.
With the extremely high odds, this selection looks like an excellent option for a value bet that could provide punters with some extremely healthy returns.
